About me
I am a nerd, plain an simple, though one with a degree in Philosophy instead of Computer Engineering.
Professionally, I'm an IT nerd with almost a decade of experience. Currently a Virtualization Systems Administrator, I cut my teeth in the US Army as a IT Specialist while building up my skills on hobbies and side projects. When I got out that drive and focus carried me deeper into the world of cloud engineering, automation, and architecting. I strive to improve every team I am a part of, whether by updating documentation, crafting scripted solutions, simplifying workflows, or re-engineering infrastructure.
Personally, I do pretty much the same with my home environment, though without all the red-tape. I am currently in the process of rebuilding my entire "private cloud", improving workflows and adding in security, monitoring, IaC, and more.
I enjoy learning new tools and techniques, both inside my field and in areas well outside of it. I live according to the knowledge that Eureka moments don't occur from understanding a specific field, it comes from fields outside and far off the task. Just adapted and reapplied a little bit.
That may be the philosopher in me talking, but the poet agrees, for how else could the majesty of the sky be connected to the beauty of love, or the power of mountains be compared to the sturdiness of a father.
